Backgammon is a very popular game and it is a very old game, which has originated in around 3000 BC. Players have to play the game strategically and luck is also required for the game. Equipment used in the game
The game can be played by only two players. There are fifteen checkers and each player gets his dice and dice cup. In order to check the stakes of the round, a cube is used which has the following numbers

- 64
The game consists of a board that consists of 24 triangles. The name of these triangles is pips. The triangles have alternate colors. There are four quadrants, which divide all the triangles. These four quadrants are as follows
- Home board of first player
- Outer board of first player
- Home board of second player
- Outer board of second player
A divider on the board is used to separate home boards and outer boards and this divider is known as bar. The numbering of the points starts from 24 of the outer board of the opponent and ending is at 1 at the home board of the first player. The players have the aim of moving their checkers to the home board and then all of them have to be removed with the help of dice.
How to play the game?
Each player has a single dice, and each player has to use his dice to start the game. Both the players have to roll their dice and the player who has the highest number gets the chance to start the game. If both of them get same numbers, the rolling of dices has to be conducted again. This rolling has to be done till the time both the players get different numbers. Each player has to roll the dice when their chance comes and they have to move the checkers. The dice has to be rolled in such a way that it does not go outside the board.
